Carpet?

I'm getting new carpet for the livingroom + small hallway. I have been looking into the kind that comes in squares like tile. If one or two get stained you just take them up and replace them. Seems like a cool idea but I'm not sure how durable this would be. Anyone have any like this?

My sister did this in a rental apartment and she loved it. My nieces bedroom had it and it looked great. Held up pretty good.
