I want to paint my bedroom...

Well I know that Briella is living in the room with us and everything, but I want to move into the nursery with Briella and Logan and painting the bedroom. It is now a light yellow and even though it is pretty I love this color I saw in Home Depot yesterday (went for something for Dh to work on the backyard.) It is a few shades lighter than this but not to over dramatic. I LOVE IT. I really want to paint the bedroom this color, with the white trim and everything. I have a milk chocolate and passion red comfortor, so the only thing would be curtains. Dh said if I could pull it off in a weekend maybe, but I don't know if I should wait. Do you all think I should wait?

Sounds good. It should only take a weekend. If you need to wash the walls down (as I did) before painting it will take longer. Painters tape saved my life. My Dad says he uses an edger and doesn't bother with the tape but I still make a mess w/ an edger and end up spending a lot of time wiping down trim before the paint dries and in the process I usually end up smudging some paint. If you do all the prep work ahead of time you should be able to get the room painted in one day.

Go for it! If it's dark, though, be prepared to do 2-3 coats to keep it from looking splotchy. I've also learned that when you use tape you should pull it off right away after you finish that section, because if you wait until it's dry, it might pull the paint up, too. Oh, and just because you tape sections off, it doesn't mean that paint won't drip down under it. I learned BOTH of those the hard way....I had dried paint drips under my tape & ended up with some messy edges. :argh:

Thanks, I have to wait two weeks, because our income tax check should be coming and we will use that to purchase the paint and other stuff. So, yeah, but I am painting it that color! HORAH!
