View Full Version : Your topic of the week??

Just a quick idea I had that popped into my head and wanted to run by everyone and see what you thought. I was thinking that maybe each week, everyone (who is interested in participating) can be in charge of a certain topic (and each week we can rotate topics and who is in charge of what topics) and post a few new threads on their topic of the week. For example, we can have a list of topics such as:
1. gardening
2. home improvement
3. recipes/cooking
4. tv shows/movies
5. current events

Thought it might make things a little more exciting around here if there are always new topics on a variety of subjects. What do you guys think? Anyone interested in participating??

Great! Ok, well just for starters - what topics would you two be interested in being in charge of for the first week - or maybe we should even do it by month??

I would be interested. Not sure if this would be a topic really, but I could do desserts. Would that work?

Csara

Desserts would work - but I am looking for more "conversation-type" topics if possible. Maybe you can start some threads on different food topics for example: lowfat cooking, quick and easy cooking, cooking for families, asian-style (or hawaiian ;) ) cooking.....and also post dessert recipes, etc.

So far we have:
Mommytotwo - food/dessert/recipes (if still interested in that)
Jana -
Yonksgirl -

Anyone else interested?

btw - topics could be anything of interest to you - those were just some general ideas off the top of my head. :)

Okay, I'm interested in a lot of things, but I don't know how many are "discussion" topics. In any case, here are some subjects I thought of:

1. vegetarian/healthy cooking
2. home repair/renovation
3. books
4. animal training

Csara

Great Jana! You pick your topic....and you can do a different one each time. :run:

Sounds good! I'll probably go with my topics in order for my turns, just so it's easy for me to keep track of.

I'll also see if I can come up with some other topic suggestions & see if they spark anybody's interest! :)

Sure, that would be good if anyone is interested in talking about food.

Okay, here are some quick ideas. I came up with a lot of these by just browsing through the ht forums:

personal finance/investing
sports
theatre
movies/tv shows
photography
starting a small business
home/time management & organization
crafts
interior decorating
news of the weird
family fun (activities, cooking with kids, games)
travel destination spotlights
fashion
music
outdoor recreation (camping, hiking, kayaking,etc.)
gardening (landscaping, indoor, outdoor, container)
art appreciation (different artists, genres)
technology (computers, electronics, new "toys")

Csara

I think it's good if everyone just posts throughout the week whenever it's convenient for them. No set schedule so there's no pressure, just post some new threads throughout the week when you feel like it. Thanks again guys, I think this will be fun! :)

Which forum would we post on?
Each person should post in the forum that is appropriate to their topic.
For example, since your topic is "family fun", you can either post in the Family & Relationships forum or the Parenting forum...whichever one you want.

I've started about 3 posts on Spring Cleaning (in the Tips, Tricks and Cleaning forum under Home Talk). I guess that is the first step in "home organization" to me. :)

I would like to do something along the lines of fashion/beauty and maybe even some kind of eating disorder awareness.

I just realized this hasn't been working too well. I'm sorry, I am to blame for not starting any new threads on my topic for the past couple of weeks. I will do that today. Anyone else interested in participating or would anyone like to switch their topic?
