Washer will not run on cold/cold setting.

I have an Amana washer dryer set. the washer worked a few day's ago fine but this morning my wife tried to do a load of laundry and it will not turn on if she has it set to cold/cold. I am tall so we wash all my cloths set to cold so they don't shrink. has anyone ever run into this?

Yes, I have this problem and by researching it it's called a silenoid (aka) Water Valve, they are cheap to buy and expensive to have put in, so when I can I am going to do it myself ! I just need time and the part at the same time...lol

Did you both ever get this problem resolved with the no cold washing cycle?

I bought the silenoid, took the washer apart and put it in easily.
The hard part came trying to put it back together, I couldn't get the cover on right for some reason and had to redo it (take it off and try to put it on right) twice, it finally spins without hitting the cover walls now..lol
