Ques. about window treatment

I hope this is the right place to put this. My hubby and I are having a little disagreement about something. I want to change the blinds in our room to something a little darker so the sun won't shine through as much, we have white blinds in all the windows all around the house. Well my hubby says you can't do that cause then it won't match the house (that's the outside of the house he is talking about). I think blinds should match the room inside and it doesn't matter about the outside but he is hell bent on the blinds should stay white cause our house is white (on the outside). Please tell me which one is right!!!!!

Well, window treatments really should look good from inside and out. Have youever driven past someone's house that had a blanket or towel in their window? Looks like crap.
That being said - I dont' think they have to be white. Maybe you can find blinds that are dark on one side and white on another? I have the 2-inch wood blinds and they look beautiful and keep it dark in the house. I also have dark curtains up so that blocks even more light, and you can't see the curtains from outside.
Good luck - I hate looking for blinds.

DH and I just got new blinds in our bedroom that are very dark. I can't believe how much better I've been sleeping the past two mornings....
They are hunter douglas blackout honeycomb/cellular shades that open from the top and bottom and they are WHITE! :) That being said, I don't think your blinds need to be white, but yes they should look good from the outside of the house as well as the room they are in.

i agree they need to look good from the inside and out the house we are renting from right now the master bathroom had a green mini blind in it.. how gross it came down the same day we moved in lol

From inside & out. I just replaced our white mini-blinds with white faux wood plantation blinds & those plantation blinds keep the room so much darker. :)
