Just had to brag about what wonderful friends I have. 6 of my girlfriends are throwing me a baby shower. I got the invitation in the mail today and it was the cutest thing ever. I love it!! I feel so lucky to have all these wonderful people who care about me and are so excited for my baby boy to arrive! :D

That is so cool, C!!! :) You should post a picture of your invitation here! I'd love to see it! (of course, you'd have to blur out the names, the address, etc... but I could do that for you if you want. :) ) Do they have a theme going for your shower?
I remember when I received the invitation that one of my friends made for my last baby shower. I was so excited to see how much love she put into making those adorable invitations and shower favors, and how much time and preparation she and my other hostess put into making that such a memorable day for me! It's wonderful to have wonderful friends! :D

OMG!! That is so cute!!!!
And you'll never believe what my shower theme was for Brendan's shower... THE RUBBER DUCKY!!!! :D Can you believe that?!? What a coincidence!
I think I posted a picture of my invitation on here, but it was probably back when I had a preggy journal for Brendan. If that's the case, it's long gone. I should scan it again and email it to you, huh?

sure...or just post it here. actually, now that you mention it, I think I remember seeing it and thinking how cute it was!! :D btw, I LOVE duckies! I was trying to find a cute bedding set with ducks, but I couldn't find any that I liked. They were all kinda ugly. LOL!

I was going to ask that you post it to. Good thinkin' Trina! I love the invite! So cute and the design is so original. And I'm with Mart, the wording is just too funny. You've got some great friends there C, but it takes being a good friend to be surrounded by them, so I'm pretty sure they think the same of you.:)

How cute! My shower invites were a bit plain, but then it was thrown by church members I barely knew, so it was enough that they even thought of me. You really do have great friends. None of mine ever asked about throwing me a shower.
Enough of my pity party. LOL I bet you will have a blast!

I'm sure it will be a "splash".
I just found out that one of my friends (not one hosting it) can't come and it's a very small party (23 people invited) as it is so I'm kinda sad. :( Should I invite someone else instead? Would it be weird to invite someone that is just more of an aquaintence and not really a friend that I see or talk to often? I like her a lot and we've known eachother a long time (plus she knows a lot of the girls who will be there), we're just not very close. Is that strange??? Be honest.

Hm, it's totally up to you, but I guess I don't view 23 (or 22 with one not coming) as that small of a small party. It's all in what you're used to, though. The only thing you'd need to be sure of is that this person doesn't know she was invited as a sort of "alternate".

Hey C!
Just do what you feel in your heart! I think if you have known each other for a long time even casually it would be fine. Plus you said she knows some of the other girls. Good luck!

She wouldn't know she was invited later b/c the RSVP date isn't until June 1. Her and another girl were both actually on my original list, but I decided to keep it down. Now I'm thinking I might just invite them both. The one I asked about is a mom of 3 young kids so she is REALLY busy all the time and that is why we aren't closer. I do call her once in a while to ask her advice and questions though - like just yesterday I spoke to her about finding a pediatrician. She is always really nice and helpful and tells me to call her if I need anything. The other girl was one of my best friends when I was little. We recently went out on a Friday night with our husbands and had a nice time. It was the first time I'd seen her since we were 13!!! I guess I have a little time to think about it still. Thanks for the input! :)

That's good. Now that I know more info, I'd say go for inviting both of them. In the case of the mom of 3, she may not be able to make it, BUT she may also love the opportunity for some time away from the kids. :) As for your childhood friend, it could be a great way to help your reconnection along. :thumb2:
