Well, today was a treat. The pets woke me up super early and after feeding them both and walking the pup, I went back to sleep (or atleast tried to) for a while, but I was hungry and thinking about food for 2 hours in bed. LOL! Finally, I decided to get up and drive to McDonald's for breakfast. DH loves the McGriddles. Ewww. I hate mixing sweet and savory things. I just go for the plain egg Mcmuffin (no meat). What do the rest of you like from there for breakie? :D

I'm a McGriddles fan, also. LOL :)
I never, ever get out of the house early enough to go get one, though. Waaaahhh!

I love the McGriddle bread, so I usually (and by usually I mean the 3 times a year we do McD brekkie-- we have a whole in the wall place we like better for brekkie, but sometimes I must admit I get a hankerin').. anyway, usually I get just that, the McGrid bread (I also don't like the meat/egg+ sweet combo... ack!). The Breakfast Burritos are good too. As are hotcakes. Oh, and Mickey Dees coffee is great! Love it. Never was into the McMuffin thing, to be honest. That's hub's pick though... egg and sausage McMuffin.

I've never had breakfast at McDonald's... I only go there in S.O.S. situations.

LOL, me too! Although when I used to go there for breakfast a long time ago, the Bacon, egg & cheese biscuits were my fave. Sorry guys - the McGriddles gross me out, especially after watching Super Size Me.

Hehe I have to admit that the film had some influence on me too... anyway, I never liked McDonalds that much, it's not that it doesn't taste good, there are things I like, but if I'm going to eat fast food or other types of fat food then I have other preferences.

Yeah, I very rarely eat McDonald's and if I do, it's actually only for breakfast. I am not a fast food fan at all. :gag: Just had a craving for an egg Mcmuffin this a.m. :1preggo: you know.....

Well i have to admit i wasn't sure how those McGriddles were gonna taste, but someone i know let me taste hers and wow i really liked it. Before that came along though i was always get the egg mcmuffin (egg, cheese & ham). That's cause just about everything else had sausage on it and i hate breakfast sausage.

hahaha. True enough, I think the McGriddle is the worst thing, health wise, on the menu, isn't it? Though we have it only rarely, I have to say that I do have a soft spot in my (clogged up) heart for McDs! AND supersize me had a totally different impact on me... I have never wanted a cheeseburger w/ extra pickles more than I did after watching it! Sick innit? But truly we watched it late on a Saturday night and afterward I was pleading hub to do a run to get me my cheeseburger fix. hahaha.

I, too, agree that it's not the healthiest! But atleast twice a month, we hit McDonald's for a meal! And with small children, it's like a "skipping" record hearing "I want to go to McDonald's Mom!" My choice is always breakfast, where I can never pass up ordering the yummy pancakes and bacon meal (I don't care for the sausage). My kids love it. It's fast and convenient especially if my 2 year old is having a rough morning and refuses to keep her food on the plate and her "butt" in the high chair! But that is rare, and most times they are all very well behaved. I enjoy having someone else do the cooking and clean-up for a change!!! :cloud9:

WHAT! you guys are crazy. I love McDonalds soooo much . I always figured anyone who said they didn't like it deep down was lying. ;) hehe. I looooove the cheeseburgers, fries, ice cream, parfaits, nuggets, chicken sandwiches..... just about anything they have! :) I especially love McD's breakfast b/c they are one of the only restaurants that have a bagel sandwich. I love the bagel with bacon and cheese only . Odd, but true. I choose to leave off the oddly shaped egg. I loooove that bagel. I'm craving it right now!! Maybe DH and I will have to go for breakfast one of these mornings toward the end of my school year. woo!!
PS- I actually ate at McD's last night. Shh! :)

I am not a fast food fan as a rule. However, McDonalds has some very good salads--California Cobb with grilled chicken being my favorite. My basset hounds love chicken tenders (no suace). Now, I have to ask. What is a McGriddle?

MMMM> Yum. I'm hungry with all of this talk.
McGriddles are like regular b-fast sandwiches at McD's, but the muffins are kind of soaked in syrup to give them a different taste. They are good, but almost too sweet for me. I would take them over mcmuffins though b/c I don't like those biscuits really -- My fave is the bagel all the way. :run:

You forgot to add that the little maple breads of the McGriddles are laced with cocaine! They are delish (but not with eggs and meat, IMO).

I just LOVE all the food for McDonald's breakfast! And I like the McGriddles all the way = fake egg and all. (I'll probably die a slow death for all the fake things I eat!)

I usually only eat lunch there, but on the rare occasions I do get breakfast I go for the bacon, egg, and cheese bagel.

We normally go to Bojangles for breakfast, but I have had the sausage biscut at McDonald's and it is pretty tasty. :)

Many moons ago, I ate the breakfast burrito - I seriously couldn't get enough of them. Then they discontinued the burritos at the McD's in my section of Ohio. Once, while visiting a friend on the opposite side, I found out they still had them, but we always stayed up so late I couldn't get there in time.
I have no idea what they serve at McD's here - it's about 4 hours away and I certainly am not going all that way just to see if they have a burrito - not likely. I don't like anything else they have - but if forced to, will eat a fish - no cheese light tartar add lettuce, onion, pickle. Yah- they love me at McDonalds.

Speaking of McDonald's, has anyone tried the new fruit and walnut salad?? I was picking up a Big Mac for DH today and got myself the salad. It was really good, but I won't buy it again b/c it's too easy to make for myself at home. ;) All it has in it are grapes, apples, candied walnuts and some vanilla yogurt.

I grabbed one of those and they were great. I agree---quite easy to make at home--but it was a wonderful alternative to a fatty old hamburger.

BTW......I tried their fruit salad and was so disappointed. It was when it first came out and I had no idea that it only had apples, grapes, a tiny bag of walnuts, and a small cup of plain yogart........I was not a happy camper!
Wendy's has a great fruit salad with delish fruit dip :lick:
