My wonderful husband, who generally sucks at gift giving, has given me an awesome mother's day. I got a gorgeous silver beaded necklace with matching earrings, an anklet with aqua/green teardrop beads and a matching toe ting, a card kit so that I can make handmade cards, and a box of Frango Mint Chocolates from Marshall Field's! He also kept both kids for 4 hours yesterday so that I could have lunch with mom. Now I remember why I married him. Hope you guys are having a great Mother's Day!

That's so awesome! Can I rave about my DH too?

He watched the kids while I got my nails done yesterday and a massage. :) And when I got home all the laundry was done and the yard work was done! Then the doorbell rang and this was delivered:

And this morning, he made me breakfast in bed! Pancakes and chocolate milk = my favs! (I'm a kid at heart). And I just got up and there's a big present on the table and THREE cards. He said "there's more to come too!" WOW!! He said he wanted my "first" mother's day to be extra special. I, too, know why I married him.

I got to load the bed of my truck with dirt (my mom helped) Saturday. then sunday we met his family for lunch at the usual buffet place, me & the kids came home & I unloaded the dirt into my new garden (I still have some more to move but after 4 hours of it I needed a break), I got the pond cleaned up & refilled (except for taking the pump out & cleaning the filter). Then when we went in the house I noticed Rob had left a message seeing if we wanted to meet for dinner (he went to work from the buffet place). Did you know that Hooters is DEAD on Mother's Day? We had a good time there (it was my choice) even tho they didn't have peanut butter or jelly for Roni's PB&J. On the way back home I swung through the drive through at Baskin Robins, Roni got a single of strawberry in a cup & I got a double of mint choco chip in a cup (which we all shared once we got home). After some more play time the kids went to bed on time & quietly.

All in all it was a very nice Mother's Day. Nothing fancy but I got to spend some good quality time with my kids & thats what counts.
