Has anyone checked out the Flylady website? It is for people who need help with the day-to-day routine of cleaning. It is kind of an organizational website. She is big on de-cluttering and getting your life in control, which is a good thing. Anwyay, it's an interesting website and I think it would help those who get overwhelmed with cleaning. http://www.flylady.net (http://www.flylady.net)

Hi Annie! A bunch of us used to be members together. We even used to post tips here, but then we learned there was a copyright problem with that. Thanks anyway. There still may be a few flygirls here... Not sure.
You can search for FlyLady or FlyGirls and see who the old members were a pm them if you want! Good luck!

I was wondering how things work with copyright the other day......is it good enough if you credit your source (like for recipes)..........when I was typing up a recipe the other day, I was looking for the publisher's name and noticed the warning about copying anything without permission, etc.
I know in the writing world that you can use information (in your writing) if you credit the source. I was wondering how that worked online.
What happened with Flylady?
I do know that in terms of copyright with recipes, you can copy the title and ingredients word-for-word, but the directions have to be in your own words. I don't know about other copyright laws for things online.
As for Flylady, I think all of us are just too lazy! :D At least, that's my problem. I can't get over that mental hurdle to even do 15 minutes. I still mostly do my nighttime routine...at the very least, I lay out my clothes for the next day. Past that, I'm not doing much these days. :)

I am fairly neat in that I don't tend towards clutter and I do pick stuff up. I also am blessed that my big old house has tons of storage---and that helps one to stay neat, I think. However, I hate cleaning and really have to force myself. It is just so non-rewarding and so "you'll be doing this again in a day or two." The emails from Flylady made me nuts. However, I do do the fling boogie periodically (and should do that more) and do the hot spot check every so often. I straighten things up and throw a load of laundry in before I leave the house each day. That really helps, I think. I hate coming home to a mess. I have a craft room that I make myself straighten up each Monday. That way it never gets to the point of taking on a life of its own. And I do clean my sink. I got this stuff at Chase Pitkin (like Home Depot) that is a "shiner" for stainless steel sinks. It is called Zep. I use that and my sink shines like crazy. However, I wear slippers around the house, thank you very much:)

Jana--Here's what I used to do if my house was a mess and I was feeling overwhelmed and did not want to clean. I would call a girlfriend first. That would give me a good reason to procrastinate a bit. We would gripe about what bombs our houses were. Then we would clean "together." We would hang up and both clean our own respective rooms, wash the dishes, vacuum, or whatever the issue was. Then, after a specific time, we would quit cleaning and call her back and continue our conversation. It was like "misery loves company". It made me feel better while I was cleaning, to know she was doing (and hating) the same thing---and there was a cut off time.
