Anyone got an easy pulled pork recipe. My dh has requested it and I'd like to surprise him.

I just put a pork roast (preferrably boneless) in the crock pot with some home made bbq sauce. I cut it into smaller chuncks (about 5-6 inches) make sure it is covered with the sauce or else you'll end up with some plain. I turn it on before I go to work and cook it on low all day. When I get home, I just take out the chunks of meat and shred them with a fork. You can either put it back in the sauce or serve it with additional bbq sauce.

The bbq sauce just has ketchup, beer, water, brown sugar, onion, worchestershire (sp??) sauce, and salt. If you omit the beer, just use more water. I just mix it all up and pour it over the meat.

Thanks Joni!! Sounds good. We don't drink beer on a regular basis so what kind do you use? I've had recipes with beer added and it adds some really good flavor.
I can't wait to try it. It doesn't dry out during the day?

Whatever DH is drinking at the time, usually Budweiser.

Nope, it doesn't dry out as long as you have enough liquid to start with. As it cooks, the juices from the fat come out and create more liquid. I usually do about 2 cups of sauce for a 3 lb. roast.

Mmmm pulled bbq pork is one of my favorites. Here's what I do, similar to Joni's but different. Put the pork loin in your crock pot and put just enough water to cover the bottom (the fat will creat more fluid as it cooks). After 7 hours on low, drain liquid and take pork out to a plate and shred w/ a fork. Throw it all back in the crock and throw in a bottle and a half of Dinosaur Slathering Sauce (the absolute best here in NY). Cook on low for one more hour. I usually serve on bakery fresh big rolls w/ additional bbq sauce. :lick:

If you ever get a chance, go to the restaurant! Hubby and I just have to stop there whenever we go and see family in Oswego. I get it at the State fair too. It's just the best, nothing can compare with the Dinosaur!
