Hi all,
Long time since I last posted.
Just had the main bathroom upgraded for about $6k.
The guys cleaned up every night and did a really good job.
What is your take on tipping....don't do it?
Or give them ?????

I've never tipped a contractor . . . but then again, I never tip at Sonic like I found out you're supposed to do.

Hi Meatball! Glad you're well!

Honestly, I've never heard of tipping. Generally, contractors make sure they get plenty of extra - and they're supposed to clean up. The only thing I've ever heard of (and have ever done) is to provide lunch and drinks for free during work being done on the house. That's just something I've always done - particularly in the summertime when it's hot and people are outside for any length of time.

Of course - I've had some really horrible experience with contractors too - but I've had good work done as well.

Maybe someone else will tell you differently, but I would think the promise of using your name as a reference would be the most appreciated thing you could do - plus telling others about what a great job they did!

And if they have a sign or anything - let them put that in your yard! Generally advertising for them would really be great because it would help them get more work - and therefore make more money!

Just my two-cents worth!

Be good - glad you're back!
