Tommy drives a truck and his clothes smell like truck fumes/fuel.........really intense truck fumes. I accidentally let him wash his own clothes  and he washed some of his good clothes with his work clothes, now his good clothes smell also. Washing detergent/fabric softener doesn't touch these smells. Any ideas?

you can get this stuff called 'Orange Hand Cleaner' (the one we have is by Zeff) at any automotive store. David uses this to clean his hands when he's been working in the garage, but I also add about 1/4 cup to the washer when I do his 'car clothes' (he gets oil, racing fuel, etc all over and they stink). It doesn't always get out stains, but it helps with the 'garage' odors.

You could try dumping a box of baking soda in the wash too.

Thanks D. I never even thought of baking soda.....DUH! My Dad should own stock in the Orange hand cleaner, I'll have to get some off of him. I used febreeze.........:gag: Don't ever try this  It does NOT mix well with 'garage' odors :D
