Hmmm........sounds good C. I have never been to one.

I love the Olive Garden. OMG, I make a HUGE piggy out of myself there! I crave their salads and breadsticks on a daily basis and adore their 'Mixed Grill'.......:lick: YUMMERS!!
I also like Red Lobster. Ah, those cheddar bay biscuits and shrimp scampi.......:lick:
For dessert I am total bonkers over TGI Friday's Brownie Obssession. That should come with an addiction warning!

Chain restaurants that are not fast food??? We don't have many... well, Gino's (Italian food) is a chain and they have pretty good things.

If they don't need to be chains, my favorite lately was a Mexican restaurant in Germany, I love Mexican food in general but their food is especially good, it's kind of expensive too, but they have great quality. The enchiladas are the best.

This is SO my menu right there....We go on a tuesday night cause the shrimp scampi is unlimited. My 9 yr old sson once ate 4 servings of the shrimp scampi. There about 10 shrimp on a pate. The waitress nicknamed him the scampi king.....course he loved that.

Oh my-- I am the queen of sit down restaurants. We go out to eat two or three times a weekend and sometimes once on a weeknight too, to break up the week.

I LOVE:

-Cheesecake Factory
-Uno's (chicago style pizza)
-Texas Roadhouse
-Ruby Tuesday (SALAD BAR TO DIE FOR-- those croutons are fab!! They taste like buttah- literally.)
-Olive Garden --mmmm. They have a fabulous dessert- something like black tie mousse cake? It is AWESOME.
-Red Robin (usually at malls) - Teriyaki chicken sand., unlimited fries, and their strawberry passion smoothie. YUM.
-BW3's (ate there last night) We always share these items: mozzerella sticks, potato wedges, boneless chicken wings (my fave are the teriyaki. sooo much that we buy the sauce to use at home, too)
-At IU, there was a restaurant called Mustards that was to die for, but they removed it my 3rd year there. BOO! They had like world record sized mozzeralla sticks. HUGE. SO GOOD.
-Love Applebee's chicken fingers salad-- but we don't go there often b/c it's so cliche' and crowded.

Ok, so we love it all.

My gosh, I have never been to any of those! Hub worked for about a total of 15 hours at a Red Lobster once, though. He was a shrimp peeler for most of that, and for some reason, quit.:) Heard rumours of their cheesy bisuits tho.

We were in the states last weekend and ate at an "On the Border"-- I gather these are a US chain (tex-mex)? It was very tastey... and very fattening. They had ONE item on their "light" menu and to be light it had to clock in BELOW 800 CALS! Eek. No wonder it was all so tastey.

My fave restaurant in town is a sort of artsy/multi ethnic deal. They have the BEST curry salmon and my usual, pad thai. Delish!

Mmmm, now I'm hungry. SS talking about Mexican food totally made me crave cemitas from Dona Conchitas. I think I remembered the name right. I actually have a picture of it somewhere. It was that good! LOL It's this restaurant in Mexico that I guess is world-famous for its cemitas - awesome sandwiches cooked in front of your eyes. My fave was chicken with avocado and that delicious cheese that I can't find anywhere. The bread was divine. I miss them so...

<snapping out of it>
I also really like the Cheesecake Factory. Everything I've had there has been good. The mashed potatoes are great, and of course, the cheesecake.
Red Lobster - for the cheese bread
Olive Garden - for the salad and breadsticks
Johnny Carino's - for yummy pasta dishes with mushrooms
Cazadores (a local Mexican place) - Everything there is good!

So hungry....

You should try Olive Garden's White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake.
It is to die for, but kind of expensive for 4.75/slice. Split it with a family member! :)

For Italian, my boyfriend and I love Olive Garden. Their endless soup, salad, and breadsticks! YUMMY!! I usually get the Zuppa Toscana. I should go out on a limb, and try another soup, but that one is so good!!! They also have good chicken parmesan. There is also one other thing that I love but can't remember the name. I know I get marinara sauce with it...LOL!! My boyfriend always gets Fettucine Alfredo w/ chicken.

I love Mexican food. My favorite is a place here called El Rincon. I always get Burritos El Rincon. It's two burritos stuffed with seasoned beef and beans, topped with their incredible white cheese, sour cream, lettuce, and a tomato. I always add a touch of salt to the top. YUM! :)

And, I love Chick Fil A. There aren't many of these around, so no one really knows about them. They are considered a high-end fast food restaurant, but they have the best chicken nuggets and honey mustard sauce EVER!! It's kind of pricey, but VERY good!

I lvoe going to sit down restaurants! Someone else cooking & taking care of the dishes... that's my dream come true. LOL When possible we try to go out once on the weekends (when hubby can go to).

Favorites?
Logan's: love the yeast rolls, when I'm not caring what I eat I'll get a combo platter (ribs & chicken or steak & chicken).
Outback Steakhouse: Excellent bread! I typically get the bbq grilled chicken. Oh & you can't forget the onion blossom.
Red Robin: Onion tower to start from there it depends on the mood. Usually chicken tender salad or fish & chips.
Cracker Barrel: country fried steak with mashed potates & fried apples.

Thats all I can think of right now.

The Red Robin in my area was in the news a few years ago because someone found a piece of a finger in their salad.

I'm not trying to gross you out, but that's just nasty! I think I ate there once, and have never gone back.

For the record I made the family go to Outback for lunchinner today. While I was typing earlier I thought about how long it had been since we had been there. We went at about 3:15 & the place was dead (we were the only ones in the non-smoking section) so we had AWESOME service. By the time we left the place was really starting to fill up.

The Texas Roadhouse has some of the best Bar B Que ribs. Yummylicious and fall off the bone tender. But I love Logan's Roadhouse rolls, they are the best.

OMG, I JUST went to Texas Roadhouse on the weekend, for the first time ever (we were in the States). I agree, the food was very, very tastey. Those rolls with that butter. Frik. So good! For dinner I had salad, a bbqed chicken breast and a sweet potato. It was all delish. But that said, I dunno if I would go back. Mainly because of the atmosphere... it was so loud, hub and I could not even talk while we ate. Also, you know, the sheer quantity of food turned me off a little. I mean, I do like to get my money's worth and not leave hungry, but I swear, my chicken breast was an ostrich breast-- insanely huge. Like I say, I am all for getting your money's worth, but that is craziness and so wasteful. I guess the plan is to take some home, and lots of people were... we were travelling so that was not really an option. I dunno... I guess I'd go back... but definintely share dishes. The ribs did look and smell delish. Incidently, Mainers really love this place. We went ca. 4:30 our time (3:30 in ME) and the place was already just packed. Insane!
