Hi, I'm Jessica, and I am soon moving to South Daytona Beach. And I don't know ANYTHING about the area, nor do I know ANYONE...so I am trying to "meet" some new folks. And I am only trying to make a "comment," as to where other ppl. will say "hi," or something, and I apologize, if I did the wrong thing on this "forum," thingy. I don't know what that nor what a "thread" is. So...if you would help me out, and say hello, I'd apperciate it! Thanks, Jes.

You did just "fine" with your post! Heh, sorry, I'm a bit of a smart aleck. :)

The forums can be considered all of HT (this site), as well as each little subgroup or category of the site....like Food Talk is one forum, as are Entertainment and Parenting, etc. They're not really separate (anybody can read posts in any forum, unless it's a private forum you haven't met the requirements for yet), but they're categorized to help organize conversations & make it easier to find things or to keep away from certain topics if you don't like talking about them.

Threads are each individual thread or line of conversation. Like with your intro, you started a new thread. I responded to you in that thread, so we're having a little conversation now. ;) That thread is in the Introduce Yourself forum. Is it starting to make a bit more sense?

I don't know if we have any members in your area, but there's still lots to read and talk about here, regardless of location! Welcome to HT!
