Well hub and I have decided to leap into parenthood... we've adopted!!
A kitten that is. :) Her name is Gloria Alexis and she is the sweetest kitten ever. She even has a goatee like her dad. She sleeps through the night and is feeding well, hee hee. She also purrs like a feind, and likes to watch TV and type (much to mother's dismay).
Here's a baby picture. This is the one we will put on the announcements.:)

Don't know how I missed this post before, but she is just too cute Mart! I love her black little nose! Congratulations on becoming parents! Kittens are busy little things, but they are just so darned cute!
We just got a new kitty back in April after losing our other kitty Phoebe (a long haired calico), last October. Phoebe was almost eight, and apparently, in the eight years I had her, I had completely forgotten just how much work kittens can be. Our new little girl, Sadie (who is an orange and toffee colored tabby), is a handful to say the least. But I love her to death! Next weekend (the long weekend), we are getting a second kitten who will be a short haired calico like yours. Haven't decided what we're calling her yet, but I'm toying with Molly. I don't know if we're ready to have two little handfuls running around the house, but I've always wanted two cats ( finally convinced hubby:D ), and I figure we may as well get the kitty stage over all at once than regressing to it once Sadie is older. I'm just hoping they get along well. Keep your fingers crossed for me!:crossed:

Congratulations!!! You know I'm a cat lover. She's sooo precious. What kind of personality does Miss Gloria have? (btw, does she have a nickname?)

Hi Heaven, IU, C, Jana, Deana. daisym Pam and Rhonda!
Thanks so much... she is a little doll. We LOVE HER SO MUCH and cannot imagine how we lived without her.
She has had some minor health issues-- turns out we adopted a wormy kitty-- well she has some rare parasite that shelter cats get sometimes and it causes-- get this-- kitty colitis! (thankfully, it is non-transferrable to humans, ew). Anyway, 100$ later she is on the mend. She was actually never out of sorts or sick acting, she just had some other nasty symptoms which I won't go into.:) Father and I have also got down the whole "giving the cat a pill" thing-- it took awhile for us all to catch on and wasn't pretty, fo sho.
Can I brag? She fetches! You throw one of her toy mice (either "The Colour Purple" or "L'il Reddy) and she brings it back to your feet, and drops it. She'll do this 10 or so times in a row before she gets bored with it. How clever is that?
Pam-- how sad! I am so sorry about your cat. Mom's cat (formerly mine) died in April (she was 15) and it was so sad...still is! It's amazing how attached we get to them, that's for sure. I tried sooooo hard to get C to go for 2-- Gloria had a sis and I almost had him convinced-- then some little boy comes in and adopts her right then and there while we are deliberating! We kinda thought that was a sign... and didn't get a second that day, but I still would a "sister" for her, so maybe some day. The people at the SPCA and her vet sure do encourage cats in pairs. Perhaps when you get a kitten you can sing the praises of that arrangement in an email to a certain CS?;)
Rhonda-- she is, I would say cuddly and curious. She loves to cuddle but she is always snooping too. Keeps us on our toes! And she does have a ton of nicknames... we call her "Glory", "Glo", "Little Girl" and, on rare rare occasions (when she climbs the curtain, for example), "You little b*itch!" hee. My BIL calls her Chairman Meow because that was the name we had picked out for a boy kitten, and he likes it.:) I am sure we will eventually be forking out the $ for antipsychotic meds to cure her schizoprenia!:)
Anyway, here are a few new pics, from the crazy cat lady.:) I call these her "yoga" poses.
