German Chocolate Chess Squares
1 package German Chocolate Cake mix with pudding
1 large egg, lightly beaten
1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted
1 cup chopped pecans
1 (8 oz.) package cream cheese, softened
2 large eggs
1 (16 oz.) package powdered sugar, sifted
Combine fist 4 ingredients in a large bowl, stirring until dry ingredients are moistened. Press into bottom of a greased 13 x 9 inch pan, set aside. Combine cream cheese, 2 eggs, and 1 cup powdered sugar; beat at medium speed with an electric mixer till blended. Gradually add remaining powdered sugar, beating after each addition. Pour over chocolate layer, spreading evenly. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. Cool on a wired rack & cut into squares. Yields 4 dozen.
