ANTS are everywhere!!!

In the last few days my house is being over run by ANTS. My computer desk has them...I sit here and the next thing I know is they are on my arm. One at a time but still I don't like them touching me Any ideas on how to get rid of them. I'm going to get the little Ant traps today after work.I didn't know if there was something like a herb or something they would hate that I could put around the house. I know some animals/pests don't like mint. HELP!!!

Borax! The laundry detergent. Mix some with icing sugar and sprinkle it around where they congregate. They'll take the toxins back to their colony. I *think*this stuff is pretty non-toxic to pets and kids too.

yah, borax is about the same as soap (in toxicity.) Not something you ought to eat, but it won't really hurt you if you do.

I usuallly use Combat Gel. In the past it was the only thing that really works and keeps them away. The ants we get in the summer time, especially when it rains, are supposedly ghost ants, but the pictures on the web don't look like ghost ants. Terminex employees have said they are though. Even with Terminex they never could stop the ants. The Combat Gel is the only thing that worked.

The key is to find where the ants are coming from and squirt some gel there.

Recently though, I think the gel is not as attractive though. I don't know if the tube of gel is old or because it was at the last of its use it may not have been as "tasty" to the ants.

We are going to try that borax+sugar combo.

I don't seem to have an ant problem. I convinced my kids they were not cool pets and they didn't need to leave food particles laying around for them. I gave the house a good cleaning and now no more ants. I make sure I vacuum daily and I think that helps too. Maybe its the weather but who knows...I don't care they are OUT!!!
