Here in Tennessee, it's sort of a "rule of thumb" that you don't plant anything until after April 15. The weather tends to jump back and forth from freezing to warm, freezing to warm until that point and you really take a chance of planting things and having them die in a frost. Tonight, for instance, we're expecting snow!!! I have looked at my beds though, and have already made plans so that the first DECENT day (not totally freezing) I'll at least get them cleaned out so that I'll be ready to plant. The bad thing is that the mint and peonies, buttercups and such are already poking their heads out of the ground. I need to go get some mulch or something to cover them because they don't need to come out yet! Silly flowers!
