Stimulus checks

Are you getting one or have you gotten one yet? We are supposed to get ours May 16th. We'll see. Do you have plans for yours? I think we need to pay DH mom money. Not all of it but I think some. Other than that the boys need new summer clothes. I'm sure I could always use something

We received ours. We paid off C's surgery, which was on our credit card. We don't like to have a balance. The remaining $500 went into our savings.

We did get ours a little early and it was truly a great help in paying some bills. I hate to break it to the gov. but I don't plan on stimulating the economy with it. I plan on making sure we keep our house and making sure we can keep our electric on.

We received ours via Direct Deposit. It's still sitting in the bank. We're not going to stimulate the economy with ours either. It will probably be saved to help pay property tax and propane at the end of the year.

Wow. How much did you get? Does it go to everyone or is it income determined? Must be nice to have some extra cash!

That said, what a BS economic recovery plan. Makes me laugh and it reminds me of the crazy Canadian premier who one time proposed that to boost the economy he would just start printing his own currency -- at least he won an election that way (It didn't work). Maybe this is GW's attempt to help McBush? Do people/pundits think this is actually a useful measure, apart from winning some (potential) PR which I gather Bush needs in a baaaad way?

Another premier, Ralph of Alberta (which is rolling in oil revenues) gave people in his province $ too-- Ralph Bucks, as they were called. There were calls for a giant boycott-- for people to send it back to tell ole Ralphy to put this $ back into the social programs he sliced and diced (health care), but noone I know did. LOL. Can't blame 'em either, even tho its a stupid waste of money. I could find a million and one uses for a few hundred bucks.

Meliz~ Its for people who pay taxes and you have to have an income over 3,000 but not exceeding I think 75,000. I could be wrong on the second number. We received $1800. We got 300 for each child and 1200 for being a married couple. Yeah Bush is just trying to buy us off. Unfortantly all of our money from this is going into the gas tank,.
