Hey C, is your ginger dressing homemade or store bought? I love ginger dressing, like the kind you get at Japanese restaraunts, Bennihana's that sort of thing, I would love a recipe like it, or a really good store bought dressing. Know of a good one?

Onto my menu:

Friday: Sichuan Chicken, with fried rice and gingered broccoli, served with a salad {looking for a good Asian inspired dressing if anyone has a good one}

Saturday: Tyler Florence's Chicken and Dumplings, {the broth is simmering now and it smells sooooo good }buttered sweet corn, and a salad

Sunday: London Broil with Texas Toast and Red Onion Jam {most likely skipping the onion jam and sauteing up some onions and mushrooms} roasted brussel sprouts with browned garlic butter, baked potatoes, and a creamy caesar salad with spicy croutons.

Monday: C's Kicking Chicken Parm, with penne or angel hair pasta, garlicky green beans, and a salad

Tuesday: The Perfect Meatloaf, with garlic and chive smashed potatoes, brown sugar baked butternut squash, and a salad

Wednesday: Sweet and Sour Crockpot Chicken, with white rice, mini eggrolls, and a salad.

M, the ginger dressing is store bought, but it tastes like it's from a restaurant. I have tried so many that just didn't cut it, but this one is fabulous. It's called Makoto and it is in the refrigerated salad dressing/salad area at the grocery store.

(not that this is any help for your dressing quest but....)
My stepmom's friend brought David and I two bottles of Miso dressing back from Japan. They were gone in a flash! We used it not only on salads but a dip - and we'd dip everything - at one point we were just putting it on crackers! mmmm!!!

OK my turn - I don't have all the side dishes down yet but....
a little back tracking also,

Sunday I made Lasagna (it wasn't that bad for the first try)

Monday was Shake-N-Bake Italian chicken with chicken flavored pasta and greenbeans

Tuesday - leftovers (someone is coming over so no time to make anything - besides I have plenty of lasagna left)

Wednesday - Meatloaf with tomato basil seasoning probably with mashed potatoes

Thursday - Lemon Chicken with angel hair pasta

Friday - marinated steaks on the grill with scalloped potatoes (not sure what marinate yet though)

Saturday - have to wait to see if we will even be home

Yay Karen, welcome to the meal planning thread!

Oh and C and D, I never found that dressing. I am going to try a different store. Hell, my grocer didn't even have anchovie paste, can you believe that one. I wanted to try out a lowfat caesar, the ones at the store are always so vinegary.

Well hows that for hijackin' a thread.

I know you guys don't live near me but do you know where I can find honey glazed walnuts. I tried Stop and Shop and could not find them anywhere. There is a package - I need them to make this yummy bar salad.

Okay--I am finally back into the menu and meal planning again. We have to start eating better. The wedding is in six weeks and eating out all the time is not a good thing.

Last night--One Dish Chicken and Rice with a salad

Tonight--Leftovers (I have a late staff meeting and Nick has a night class)

Wednesday--Spaghetti with garlic toast and a salad

Thursday--Chicken with Wine Sauce, pasta, vegetable & salad

Friday--Pork Chops (not sure how to cook them), mashed potatoes (homemade, not the flakes), and a vegetable

Saturday--out with friends

Sunday--not sure yet
