I have not a clue.....
Let's see, Monday we had cilantro turkey burgers, steamed broccoli and fries. Last night (Tues) we brought home subs after food shopping. Tonight (Wed) I have to make something vegetarian because I have no meat defrosted so I will probably make pasta and veggies, veggie chili or bean burritos unless someone has a better idea. LOL! Thursday I will make some kind of chicken, not sure yet. Friday I might have the family over for dinner so that will take some thought. Ok, I'm getting nowhere so I'll stop here.

I had a really good meal plan for this week (in the old thread) but David is really sick (throat infection, poor baby) and all he wants is soup. So last night I made broccoli cheese (packaged, but really good!) and tonight I think I am going to make homemade chicken noodle soup and get his favorite, chocolate pudding.

Didn't get to do the Lemon Flank steak last week, when I got to the store the flanks weren't looking so hot, and I didn't get to do the rosemary roasted chicken, something I've been craving for weeks so here is this weeks plan:
{where are all the other planners?  }
Thursday: Lemon rosemary roasted chicken, with mashed potatoes, gravy, sweet buttered corn, and salad.
Friday: Chicken fajitas, black beans and rice {I could live on this stuff} and salad.
Saturday: Roast w/ spaetzles {per T's request } roasted asparagus in browned basalmic butter and salad.
Sunday: Renfest so we're playing it by ear
Monday: Cajun chicken pasta, garlic toasts, and ceasar salad.
Tuesday: Asian beef, fried rice, gingered broccoli, and salad.
Wednesday: Cilantro turkey burgers w/ chipotle ketchup, twice baked potatoes, garlicky green beans, and salad.

ugh, I've been so bad with meal planning. Last night we went out, tonight, I think I'll do Csara's chicken Parm, tomorrow probably leftovers and friday... maybe an appitizer dinner (I cheat - I go to Central Market and they have an enormous salad bar with pasta, different salads, hummus, an olive bar... and then a "hot" case of food... oh it's so good)
The Oct CL has some really great looking recipes that I want to try, so I will be meal planning this weekend.

That baked potato soup looks so yummy in the issue! I may make that soon for lunch for T, he loves potato soup.

mmmm... potato soup! David was like "um, you're gonna make that, right?" I don't think I'll use bacon though - neither one of us like it. I might get some smoked turkey or turkey ham from the deli, grill and cube (or strip) it.
And the rice dish on the back page looks interesting.

Hey M, what cut of meat do you recommend for a roast? I want to try to make roast beef in my slow cooker. What do you use, and do you know if there is a lean cut of beef for roast beef?
Oh, yep, the squash/rice caserole is a definate "try me"!!

T hates any kind of stewed or braised meat, so since I've been with him I haven't made the crockpot kind. I do recommend a bottom round or chuck for the crockpot, even eye round which is the leanest of the roasts {well not tenderloin}. I always use eye round, season it really well with S&P, sometimes slivers of garlic inside, but I only recommend if you love garlic, a little goes along way, then I sear it on top of the stove in a cast iron skillet until its nice and crunchy browned looking. Then I put it in the oven 325 F. for about 1 1-1/2 hours. I put my oven thermometer in to the roast and take it out at about 135 degrees, then let it rest 15 minutes before carving it.

Well, I sat down last night and planned the rest of this week!
Wednesday (tonight) chicken strips--I want blueberry chutney and Chris wants hot sauce/blue cheese dressing...we have both on hand. Also green beans (steamed), corn muffins.
Thursday: Curry (I'm going to try a coconut/curry with chicken and veggies...looks yum-mee!) rice or orzo & salad.
Friday: Meliz's spiced tomato stuff (what do you call it Meliz--the tomato sauce with cardamom and spices??) over rice. I throw lots of veggies in it, so it's a one dish meal.
Saturday: Probably pork roast in the crock pot
Sunday: We're supposed to get together with friends, so depending on when we see them, either reuben sandwiches after church and dinner later in the day with them or pork loin with salad, etc. as our big meal, and maybe a light meal later with them. On Sundays we usually have our big meal at noon, and lighter snacks for dinner later.

Ok...trying to get back into planning...even though half the time I stray from it, my menu is a starting point!
Monday (today) Reuben sandwiches, tortilla chips and guacamole and salad.
Tuesday: Coconut curry, salad
Wednesday: Cilantro Turkey Burgers, home baked fries, fresh veggies
Thursday: Pork in the crock pot (marinated in oj, habanero sauce, fresh basil, and cooked with red beans) over rice
Friday: The beef dish my friend made us yesterday w/rice. (Puree one can chopped tomatoes, 1 clove garlic and 1/2 onion. Dice and brown sirloin steak--maybe 1 pound or so. Pour sauce over and simmer for a while...it was really good!)
Saturday: left overs. When I was growing up, once a week or so, we'd have "C.O.R.N." dinners..."Clean Out Refrigerator Night".
Sunday: Our one year anniversary!! We're having dinner with some friends from church...we're to bring dessert. I'm taking sugar cookies in honor of our wedding!
